Each day at Hendricks is a day of personal intellectual discovery. Elementary instruction is interactive and challenges students to make connections between the subject matter and the world around us. Beyond the typical academics, content-themed activities like Cool Cat Coffeehouse, Dino Dig and Colonial Day engage creativity and thinking skills.
Field trip experiences are one hallmark of our enriching program. Our fourth graders embark on a multi-day adventure in marine ecology. Our fifth graders take an overnight trip to discover the fascinating world of animals and their habitats. Learning through first-hand experiences creates the energy and excitement about these subjects, as well as lasting memories of the friends they have made. In the lower grades, field trips include a guided tour of Jacksonville, visiting the courthouse in Tallahassee and attending The Nutcracker Ballet.
Our rich curriculum also inludes Spanish, art, music, physical education, science lab, library, and technology resource classes several times per week. Elementary students utilize technology in the classroom to expand learning and enjoy rich cultural exchanges with peers across the globe.
